Small Business Online Marketing: 3 Mistakes to Avoid When Marketing Your Business Online (Part I)

There are many mistakes that you could make when marketing your business online.

To begin with, you may not even have a website for your business, which can be considered a huge mistake because you will not have the ability to market and brand your business to all of your potential customers and clients who are online.

But let's suppose that you already have a website for your business.  Let's look at 3 specific mistakes that you want to avoid when it comes to marketing your business on the internet:

Small Business Online Marketing: 5 Benefits of Having a Blog for Your Business

As a business owner (or aspiring entrepreneur), it's important for you to communicate with your clients and/or potential clients.  Interacting with the people who are buying (or thinking about buying) from you is a good way for you to earn their trust.

Here are 5 benefits of having a blog for your business:

Radio Show Guest: Dave Crenshaw, Time Mangement Expert

My interview with Dave Crenshaw is the latest episode that aired on The Small Business MBA's Blog Talk Radio Show.

Dave is a time management expert, business coach, and author.  (You can learn more about him at www.DaveCrenshaw.com.)

In this interview, I ask Dave about time management and his book "The Myth of Multi-Tasking: How Doing It All Gets Nothing Done."

This interview is relatively quick (less than 15 minutes) -- you can listen to it without out it taking up too much time.

Small Busines Marketing Tip: Article Marketing... A Simple Way to Drive Traffic to Your Business's Website

Do you need a way to drive traffic to your business's website?  Well, here's a simple strategy that you can use to drive some targeted traffic to your site.  (The more targeted traffic you can drive to your site, the more leads -- and SALES -- you'll generate.)

The strategy that I'm going to discuss here today is article marketing.

This is how you can utilize article marketing:

1. Set up an account with an article directory.  I prefer to use EzineArticles.com.

Radio Show Guest: Pat Gage, Small Business Funding Expert

In the third episode of my radio show, I discuss funding for small businesses with Pat Gage, a small business funding expert.

He has created a system called “10 Steps to Money” and has helped his students raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for their businesses.

Small Business Marketing Tip: Get Your Business Listed on Google Maps

Here's an online marketing tip for you: get your business properly listed on Google Maps.

For all of you small business owners who have an actual, physical location, make sure that your small business's location is listed on Google's local business directory, so that your potential customers can find you when they search Google Maps for your product and/or service.  By having your business in the directory, you will be able to provide your location and information about your business.

Radio Show Guest: Ruta Fox, Branding Expert

There are many different aspects to running a small business -- not only Internet and mobile marketing -- and, therefore, my Blog Talk Radio show will address various small business strategies and topics that small business owners may be interested in.

With that, I'd like to let you all know that the first episode of The Small Business MBA's Blog Talk Radio Show is live.

Small Business Marketing Tip: How to Drive Traffic to Your Small Business Website With... Receipts

If you own a store, restaurant, or any other small business that provides customers and clients with a receipt after they make a purchase, make sure to take advantage of the following tip:

Set up your register so that every receipt has your website's URL on it.

You can simply set it up so that it says something like, "Please sign up to be a preferred customer at www.yourdomain.com and receive special discount offers."

Having this information on your receipt does a couple of important things:
